Best Workout... Barre None

Over the last few years ballet inspired workouts have become one of the hottest trends to hit our gyms and boutique studios.

Most BARRE workouts are accessible to all fitness and flexibility levels and you most definitely do not require any dance experience to get the most from this fitness class.

Although they are not designed to deliver a cardiovascular workout, incorporating BARRE into or alongside your regular workout routine will improve your posture, help lift and shape your body.

Master those squats, plies, arabesques and you will see improvements in your core strength, flexibility, muscular endurance and even your balance.

Even better, as classes are a steady low impact option, there is far less risk of injury and more emphasis on improving technique.

But it’s not only physical benefits in these classes; there are plenty mental benefits to taking a class as well. BARRE classes can be a great place to get rid of some mental clutter and release some tension.

A combination of moving the body, controlling your breathing and keeping some positive focus can leave you feeling strong, refocused and regrouped again.

As part of our ongoing partnership with LES MILLS we are the first UK chain to roll this programme out nationally across the group and we are sure our members will love “the beautiful burn” as much as our trainers do.

LES MILLS BARRE™ is a modern version of classic balletic training; a 30-minute workout designed to shape and tone postural muscles, build core strength and allow you to escape the daily stresses of life through therapeutic thought.

Incorporating classic ballet positions, with modern music, LES MILLS BARRE is a combination of cardio and strength with high repetitions of slight movements using very light weights.

If you’re seeking a different style of training or a new kind of self-expression, you will love LES MILLS BARRE.

Without the traditional BARRE to support you, the muscles supporting your body’s stability and strength becomes the focus. It may look beautiful, but don’t underestimate the burn!

Not at problem.

Simply follow your instructor as they will show you all of the appropriate options for beginners. It pays to commit to three or four classes from the start to feel comfortable with all the moves.
