We've taken the opportunity to carefully rethink our processes and to introduce a number of important and innovative initiatives, to ensure you get your workouts done safely. 

HEALTH DECLARATION

By entering a Village Gym Club every member and guest is agreeing to make a COVID-19 Health Declaration to confirm that :

  • You do not have any COVID-19 symptoms
  • You have not received a positive test in the last seven days
  • You are not waiting on a Coronavirus test result
  • That no member of your household has COVID-19 symptoms or is waiting on a test result
  • And that to the best of your knowledge you have not been in close contact with anyone who is exhibiting Coronavirus symptoms or has tested positive.

All members and guests are also expected to maintain social distancing and to keep themselves, fellow members and Village Gym staff safe by adhering to the safety advice and guidance given.

On every visit to a Village Gym you will effectively be making the above Health Declaration.

 

 

 

 

KEEPING YOUR DISTANCE

To ensure you remain safe whilst getting your fitness routine covered, we've implemented a number of procedures to maintain careful social distancing.

We will be following advice from Public Health England, Scotland and Wales and will review our social distancing procedures regularly - keeping safety as our No.1 priority.

Please do help to keep yourself, our staff and your fellow members safe, by using a sensible approach to personal space.

Social Distance.
We have redesigned the gym floor, spacing out cardio and resistance equipment to provide you with effective and safe workout areas. Where possible we are also introducing one-way routes.

Protective Screens.
We have added perspex protective screens in between cardio equipment to make working out even safer!

Class sizes.
We will continue to deliver amazing classes in our studios, and will utilise the Hotel's larger conference spaces and outdoor areas, where possible. Class sizes have been reduced in our studios. Classes have also been re-choreographed to ensure safer participation.

Pool-side.

The swimming pool will be actively managed for bather numbers. The sauna, steam room, and whirlpool will be closed during the initial reopening phase.

Changing rooms.
In our member changing rooms a number of lockers, shower cubicles, toilets and wash basins will be temporarily taken out of service to enable necessary social distancing.

Our hotel guests are asked to come gym ready and to shower afterwards in their own private rooms.

Temporary Closures.

Squash courts, the sauna, steam room, and whirlpool will be closed during the initial reopening phase. We will review this regularly and will reopen these facilities when safe to do so.

Booking system.
At peak times, a simple booking system will be in operation to control usage levels on the gym floor, if directed by the UK Government.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CLEANLINESS + HYGIENE

To deter the spread of the virus, we've upped our cleaning routines and adopted advanced hygiene standards.

Top-grade cleaning, more often.
Our team will use cleaning products that are proven to kill viruses like COVID-19 in all areas, with particular attention being paid to bikes, weights, and all high-touch surfaces after every class.

We have invested in state-of-the-art, new cleaning equipment that uses Electrostatic Technology. This revolutionary cleaning system provides an even distribution of cleaning products and total disinfectant of every surface it coats.

Our Clubs will be cleaned multiple times, on a daily basis. We are investing in
significant additional cleaning hours. You will see our cleaners working in the gym
and in the changing rooms.

Extra time is being allowed between classes so we can fully clean the studios ahead of the next class.

Handy products when you need them.
We are providing complimentary alcohol gel and antibacterial soap, blue roll + antibacterial spray and wipes for members to use. Please use the antibacterial wipes for cleaning resistance equipment. Wipes are also available for use in the changing rooms, for example for use after using hair dryers and straighteners. Blue roll and antibacterial spray are available for cleaning hard surface areas such as cardio equipment. Please use these products to deter the spread of the virus - protecting both yourself and other users of the gym.

Going contactless.
Please help us stay safe by using contactless payments when possible. 

Class Bookings.

We have removed the Club iPads that are used for booking classes. Please make your class bookings online, download the new Village Gym app (coming soon), or book in person at Leisure Club Reception.

A breath of fresh air.
In each of our high intensity indoor cycling Studios we have invested in a clean air solution called 'Aera Max IV' (from the phs Group) to ensure the steady flow of clean air. This chemical-free solution uses activated carbon filters that are proven and certified to absorb 99.9% of airborne viruses and contaminants within just 35 minutes of operation.

Towels.
We encourage all members to bring their own towels. However, towels are still available for Black Card members only and are now being washed at a much higher 70 degrees Celsius temperature.

No equipment rentals.
Should you need padlocks, wristbands or any sports equipment, these will be available to purchase in Leisure Club Reception. Unfortunately, these items will no longer be available for hire.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

LOOKING OUT FOR EACH OTHER

Prior to gaining entry, we will give all members a quick temperature check before allowing access to the Club.

We ask all members to...

  • Always respect social distancing rules when in the Club and Hotel - especially when in close, shared spaces like changing rooms or group classes.
  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Wipe down the gym kit before and after use 
  • Not to use sweat towels 
  • Bring their own toiletries, such as shower gels and shampoos for personal use
  • Not to remove cleaning materials / hand sanitiser from the Club
  • Make contactless or credit card payments rather than using cash, where possible
  • Be patient and observe all health and safety guidance and advice, and if you have any feedback please do contact a member of our team.

Staff training.
All staff will receive COVID-19 training, to reassure them about the new initiatives and processes we have introduced. In addition, staff will receive health & safety operating excellence training upon their return to work. Our Personal Trainers will be given specialist training so that they can deliver safe one-to-one sessions.

Staying protected.
PPE
will be available to all of our staff.  Cleaning staff will be required to wear a disposable mask and disposable gloves while performing their duties. 

Before starting work each day all team members will complete a health screening, including temperature check, to ensure they are fit for work.

Team members will wash their hands at the start of their shift and will be encouraged to frequently do so during their shift too. 

At Club Reception we have fitted a protective screen to keep our staff and members safe.

Safety first.
If you have any COVID-19 symptoms
, please do not come to the Club and be sure to follow the latest up-to-date Government advice.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, or have knowingly come into close contact with someone who has, we ask that you do not come to the Club for 14 days or until you’ve tested negative for COVID-19.

If you feel unwell or have any concerns about coming into Village Gym, please stay home and stay safe. We’re encouraging members, Personal Trainers and our Gym Staff to limit their person-to-person contact, including hugs & high fives.

Community and love is in our DNA—but right now, this is the best way to take care of everyone. It might be a bit overwhelming at first. But trust us: As soon as that first music track starts playing, you’ll find yourself in that familiar place you know and love.
